Celebrate May Day!
Make a basket of flowers and deliver it to someone's front door.  Ring the bell and run away... but if they catch you, you have to give them a kiss!

Take a Walk!
Take your kids on a walk through the neighborhood.  What flowers are growing in people's garden?  Take time to stop and smell them!
Go to a Farmer's Market!
Buy local, buy organic!  This is a great way to do both and get outside for a bit of spring air.
Organic fruits & vegetables/ baked goods, gifts/ miscellaneous merchandise, live music & food trucks.  Plus, all are located near local restaurants and shops. Click on the city for more info.

Relax and enjoy doing (almost) nothing with your kids:
Stay in your pajamas to read the Sunday paper or a favorite story book and have breakfast in bed.
Plant strawberries in your garden.
Dance to your favorite music.
Have a picnic in your yard.
Look at family pictures and tell your kids stories about when they were babies (
even three year olds love doing this!).
Still Here... Just back on-line after some technical issues!
Hopefully updates will be posted by Friday 5/25!

Visit a park!
We have so many beautiful green spaces located nearby.  Parks that are especially appealing to preschoolers:
Higginbotham Park (Claremont) - located along the Thompson Creek Trail.  Bring apples or carrots for the horses (west of the park on the trail).
San Dimas Canyon Park (San Dimas) - Walk up the hill behind the playground (go towards the restrooms to find trail) to visit the Nature Center (Closed Mondays).
Wheeler Park (La Verne) - walk through the park towards the back to pick up a short, flat trail perfect for a nature walk with preschoolers.

Explore Los Angeles:
We live in an area that is rich in history and culture... and plenty of family friendly entertainment!  Plan a trip to one of many attractions in LA or Southern California.  Here is a bucket list of "100 things to do to in LA with kids before they grow up'.
Make it an educational experience: visit the library before or after to check out books related to your adventure; make a simple BINGO style game to help track highlights of the trip.

Look at the world through your children's eyes:
Give your child a disposable camera and let them take pictures over a few days (or a few minutes - cheap digital cameras are available at the Photo Centers in most drugstores).  Once the film is developed (or selected pics are  printed) Help them create a journal using their words to describe each photo.
